In a creative FUNK!
As any artist, writer, or designer (which I consider myself to be) occasionally can get in a creative funk. I am sad to say I feel like I am there. Not only have I been sick two separate times in the last couple weeks with vomiting and diarrhea so has both the kids. Luckily for them only once a piece. Katy was on spring break last week so that hindered too much creativity just because I was spending time with my kiddos. And I hosted a large number of ladies at my home so a good part of my attention went to cleaning and preparation for the coffee group. In the mean time I have not really been thinking and dreaming of designs and beautiful items I can make. Usually I dream of the fabrics I will use and purses I will make. I feel like the creative part in my brain is turned off. Today I sat down to make something new. I had a new design and purse made up and was about to put the finishing touches on and discovered my iron had left some residue on the fabric. In my attempt to clean the fabric it ruined the fabric and at this point was not fixable! My second attempt cost me even more time and money. I strayed again from my solid tried and true designs and decided to do something different only again have it not work out. So four hours later I have nothing accomplished, lost patience, money and time. Usually I would have about three totes done. Well I will try again later I started a slightly new design so hopefully this one will work out. If not I might have to close up the sewing for the weekend and pray my creativity will return so I can work hard next week. The good news is I just purchased tickets for Katy, Logan and I to go home for a little over two weeks at the end of May and beginning of June. My mom and I are already planning on creative together. This is something to look forward to!

I'm sure your total mess ups are better than the projects I do a "good job" on!
Thanks Andrea! I am not so sure about that though they were pretty bad!
Do you ever read other crafter's blogs? They are great inspiration and a lot of them put little tutorials on them so you can figure out how to make the things they do. Try the Sew Mama Sew blog. They link to a lot of other sewers in their blog. Is that how you spell sewer?
